Don't let anyone fool you - the "freedom" of the gig economy is freedom from wage security, freedom from paid time off, and freedom from retirement benefits.


Organized Labor brought the 5-day work week, overtime mandates, and health benefits members could afford. It is no overstatement to say that the Labor Movement built America's middle class.


My dad's dad was a UAW member! I cherish that heritage.
